A family has escaped without any injuries after their slammed headfirst into an elephant which was on the road in front of them.

A video has shown the moment a family collided with a wild elephant during a high-speed crash captured in heart-stopping dash cam footage.
The vehicle was written off after the smash – but thankfully neither the elephant or the family were seriously injured.
In the clip, the car is shown travelling down an empty highway in Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima Province, north-east of Bangkok.
According to Daily Star UK, Forestry worker Utai Bitdtakreu, 32, was behind the wheel as the car headlights suddenly illuminated the shape of a giant elephant dawdling across the road in the darkness.
He had no time to react, letting out a shout as the car slammed into the massive mammal.
Mr Bitdtakreu, who had been driving home from work with his wife and daughter, said: "We were a little bit shaken up by the accident but our first thoughts were for the elephant.
"There are a lot of elephants that cross the road and I'm so sorry I did not see this one in time.
“It just ran across the road. It might have thought that it could get across in time."
He returned to the scene the next morning and found three elephants in the area.
One was said to be carrying an injury to its back left leg.
“It’s a big relief knowing that the elephant is alive and walking around,” Mr Bitdtakreu added.
Park rangers have been sent to find the animal and give it treatment for its injured leg.
