Breaking News: Senate Okays Two RECs, Rejects One

The nomination of some persons for appointment as Resident Electoral Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission, have been approved by the Senate.

According to a Punch Metro report, the Senate on Thursday approved the nomination of Ambassador Rufus Akeju (Lagos) and Dr. Mahmuda Isah (Kebbi) as Resident Electoral Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
 
The lawmakers however rejected the nomination of Ahmad Bello Mahmud based on the recommendation by the Senate Committee on INEC in its report which was adopted.
 
Mahmud was alleged not to be an indigene of Zamfara State but Sokoto State.
