Drama as Yahoo Boys Beat Man to Pulp Over His Failure to Make Them Rich After Paying Him N1.2m

A man has been attacked and beaten to stupour after he failed to make some group of internet fraudsters prosper after they reportedly paid him N1.2million.

Five suspected internet fraudsters have allegedly beaten up and injured a marabout over his failure to make them prosper in their deals after receiving N1.2million as commission.
 
It was learnt that the suspects contracted the man to pray for them to prosper in their endeavours and paid him N1.2million but they got angry when they did not see the result of the prayers.
 
A police source at the Gwarinpa Police Station said the man was invited from Ilorin, Kwara State by the suspects to come and pray for their colleagues.
 
A police source at the Gwarinpa Police Station, where the case was reported, said the five suspects met the man in the hotel he lodged in Gwarinpa and beat him up at about 11:00p.m. on Wednesday.
 
The source said the suspects injured the victim on his head and forced him to withdrew N150, 000 which they collected.
 
The Gwarimpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo said one of the suspects was arrested.
 
He identified the victim as Ibrahim Olanrewaju from Ogidi, a metropolis in Ilorin, Kwara State.
 
He said police officers rescued the victim after a distressed call was received from a resident that five young men were beating up a man.
 
“One suspect is in custody while four others are at large,” he said, adding that officers were making efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects.
