Bassey Aniekan, an undergraduate of Delta State University, Abraka got himself into troubled waters after feeding a 17-year-old colleague with a cake baked with Indian hemp.
The cake laced with weed
An undergraduate of Delta State University, Abraka named Bassey Aniekan has been arrested by the police after lacing a cake he baked with marijuana and giving it to a 17-year old female colleague who started misbehaving after eating it.
The condition of the female colleague got worse that she was admitted into the hospital. This led to his arrest by the men of the Delta State Police Command.
In a statement issued by Police spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu on Friday in Asaba, Bassey Aniekan ran into trouble after victim started behaving abnormally and was admitted in a hospital for treatment.
Kalu said further that a male student from the University reported to the police in Abraka on September 2, 2015 that Aniekan, a student of the university gave the cake to the female student, aged 17.
She said that during interrogation, Bassey confessed that he added Indian hemp to the ingredients used in baking the cake.
“The suspect admitted to have used Indian hemp to bake the cake which he gave the victim; we are still investigating the matter,” Kalu said.
