APC National vice chairman, South-South Zone, Hillard Eta
The South-South zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are hopeful that they would be well compensated in other appointments by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The National vice chairman of the party in the zone, Hillard Eta, who spoke at the end of the post-election Zonal National Executive Meeting (NEC) of the party in Calabar at the weekend, said it was still too early to ‘cry wolf’, This Day reports.
Eta said: “It is too early in the day to cry wolf; I am assured that the south-south will definitely get its fair share of the appointments. But we should not delude ourselves that appointments in whatever hue is a guarantee of development.”
According to him, the clamour for ethnic representation in appointments as unnecessarily overheating the polity.
He said the APC government was committed to developing every part of the country, including the South-South.
He added that Nigeria needed the best hands to help in rebuilding the nation, while also calling on the president to choose the best brains that can deliver on the party’s electioneering promises.
