A security guard risks heavy jail sentence for allegedly having carnal knowledge of the seven year old daughter of his employer.

A 20- year-old security guard, Abass Haman, who allegedly raped his employer’s seven-year-old daughter, was on Tuesday, September 8, charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor Jimah Iseghede told the court that the accused committed the offence on Sept. 3 at his employer’s residence.
According to Sgt. Iseghede, the accused forced the seven-year-old girl and had canal knowledge of her.

“The victim narrated her ordeal to her friend and her mother was later informed.

“The accused was then apprehended by the police,” he said.

The offence, according to the prosecutor, contravenes Section 258 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that section 258 (1) prescribes life imprisonment for rape.

The accused, however, denied the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Tajudeen Elias, adjourned the case to Sept. 30 for ruling on the bail application.
