Drama as Woman Is Caught Red Handed With 187 Bags Of Indian Hemp in Nasarawa

A woman has been reportedly nabbed by the police with as many as 187 bags of Indian hemp in a Nasarawa State community.

A woman identified as Doris Ossai has been nabbed by the Nigeria Police Force with 187 bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp in Masaka, Karu local government area of Nasarawa State.

According to The Nation, the Force spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Abuja on Friday.

He said the arrest followed a coordinated operation by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Tactical Squad on December 12.

“The Inspector-General of Police’s Special Tactical Squad working on active intelligence arrested the suspect on December 12 in Masaka area of Nasarawa Satate,”
he said.

Moshood added that efforts were being intensified to apprehend other suspects connected with the crime.

He said the IGP had directed that all black spots across the country must be cleared of criminal elements terrorising Nigerians.

The suspect, who spoke to journalists, denied the allegation, adding that she was a fish seller and owner of the house where the substance was found.

She said the house was rented by one Monday Osaze who told her that he was going to bring his family to occupy it.

The spokesman said the suspect would be charged to court on completion of investigation.
