Arsenal Legend, Thierry Henry Crowned the 'Igwe of Football' in Lagos (Photos)

Former Arsenal and France international striker, Thierry Henry who is in Lagos for the Guinness Made of Black programme, has been crowned the, 'Igwe of football' in Nigeria.

At an event put together by Guinness Fanzone in the Victoria Island area of Lagos on Sunday, Arsenal football legend, Thierry Henry, was crowned the ‘Igwe of football’
 
The legendary Frenchman who arrived in Nigeria over thr weekend for ‘Watch a Match with Thierry Henry’ event, who was clad in the attire of an Igbo chief, was unveiled as an ambassador for the Made of Black campaign.
 
It was gathered that apart from receiving the honorary title, the retired footballer also partook in the cooking of jollof rice.
 
 
Henry later recognised and praised a one-legged footballer whom he described as “the real Igwe”.
 
The one-legged footballer told Henry that despite losing his leg, he relocated to Lagos and still managed to achieve his dream of playing football.
