FG Disburses N5,000 Monthly Stipends To Katsina Poor

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has progressed with social security programme to cater for the very poor Nigerians.

The federal government has released about N256 million for disbursement as N5,000 monthly stipends to lift less privileged persons cross abject poverty line in Katsina State, Tukur Shehu Rumah, official of the National Social Safety Nets Programme, has said.
 
Rumah, who confirmed this while monitoring the disbursement of the funds released for the payment across the state at the weekend, assured that commitment of the present administration to the programme designed to ease the hardship of the less privileged in the society.
 
LEADERSHIP further learnt that four local government areas in each of the three senatorial zones in the state and three wards in each of the local government councils would benefit from the federal government’s initiative.
