A brave firefight has heroically saved a helpless baby from a burning flame that left people dead in a popular hotel building.

This is the moment little Jimmy was rescued from the blaze

This is the dramatic moment a baby was rescued from a burning hotel as a blaze which killed two people ripped through plush resort on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Honeymooners Andrew and Louise Logan watched on in horror as a firefighter tucked their son Jimmy under his arm and carried him from a window at the five star Cameron House.

Two people were killed in the devastating blaze which broke out in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police have not yet named the tragic guests - one was pronounced dead at the scene and another died later in hospital.

Witnesses said Andrew and Louise screamed for help as smoke filled their £600-a-night suite with their baby inside.

Linsey Allan, 37, said: “The family were screaming ‘Help us, we can’t get out and we’ve got a baby’.

“Then the room filled with smoke, the lights in the room went off and we didn’t hear them again.

“I was in tears and shaking. It was incredibly traumatic, horrendous.”

Eyewitnesses reported seeing ambulances, fire engines and cops all scrambling to the scene on the shores of Loch Lomond, Scotland, in the early hours.

Terrifying images of the blaze show smoke billowing into the air as flames can be seen glowing inside the building.

One witness told The Sun the flames from Cameron House were visible from Auchencarroch Landfill Site in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire.

He said: “I’m on a hill five miles away sitting watching it through the binoculars.

“It’s really bad. The flames are very big. It looks like the whole lot of the hotel is one fire.

“The smoke is all across the loch and the traffic has been diverted onto the Helensburgh Road. The flames are well above the treeline.”

Fire could be seen pouring out of the hotel after the fatal blaze

Police said they evacuated more than 200 guests from the building, saying it had been "extensively damaged".

Cops added: "Officers remain at the scene and are working with other emergency services to establish the exact circumstances of the incident.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

A statement on the website of Cameron House Hotel said: "Due to an ongoing incident please be aware that Cameron House will remain closed to arriving guests for at least the next 48 hours.

"We would ask all guests and customers to remain patient as we work with the emergency services to establish the extent of the damage and ascertain when we will be able to re-open."
