Media controversy has trailed the organizers of the show, Miss Kogi Beauty pageant, over a 20 years old prize awarded to the new queen.

A new queen, Abdulateef Titilope Kawiyat, has emerged in the recently concluded Miss Kogi 2017/2018 beauty pageant.
However, the organizers of the show took to its Facebook page and shared photos of the star prize of the winner of the state's beauty pageant competition.
The photos of the star prize, a 1997 model Volkswagen car, which emerged online were trailed with mixed reactions and criticisms from Nigerians online who argued why a 2017 winner of a competition be award a prize which is 20 years old.
