Fossils of the early humans named Homo naledi were found near Johannesburg in South Africa, offering a very unique insight into man's evolution

An early species of human with the brain the size of an orange and a super skinny figure has been discovered.

The early humans lived in the remote 'Rising Star' cave around 50km from Johannesburg, South Africa.

Standing just five feet tall, and weighing little more than 7 stone, the new species has been named Homo naledi. Naledi means 'star' in Sesotho, a native South African language.
