Lady Gaga, who's real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, was on a week's holiday to a suburban villa in Parma in order to return to her Italian roots.

It has also been revealed that the singer had planned a performance at a local nightclub as a treat for the residents of the city, but a few hours before it was due to happen she found out that only a small section of tickets had been bought.

It was then revealed to her that local people had spent all their money on funding the historic Serie A club.

The singer decided that she had to save the club before it dissolved, so she supplied an initial investment of €8.6 million.

Although it was only sold for €1 in February this year, she wanted to supply an amount which would be enough to open the stadium for not only the current season, but for many years into the future.

The 'Poker Face' singer has already held talks with coach Roberto Donadoni and president Giampietro Manenti, and both parties have reportedly agreed to allow the sale.
