It was pure tragedy that struck Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Osogbo, on Thursday, when the Head of the Civil Engineering Department (HOD) Dr Moses Adebowale Ogunbiyi, suddenly slumped and died on the campus of the institution.
According to Nigerian Tribune, though details surrounding the sudden death were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, Tribune Online authoritatively gathered that the sad incident occurred around 11.00 am.
Confirming the demise of Ogunbiyi during a telephone chat with Nigerian Tribune on Thursday night, the Vice Chancellor (VC), Professor Labode Popoola, said, “it is true that he died today. He slumped and died on campus and we are mourning him. It was a sad incident.”
As a result of the development, academic and other social activities were suspended in the Civil Engineering Department of the institution as a mark of honour for the deceased.
