Chief Priest, 3 Others Arraigned Over Conspiracy To Murder Another Person In Edo

A chief priest in an Edo State community has allegedly conspired with three other persons to try to murder another person.

According to Vanguard, the Ohen (Chief Priest) of Ohovbe Quarters in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, Chief Joseph Amadasun and three others have been arraigned before an Ogbeson Magistrate’s Court, Edo State, on a seven-count charge of conspiracy and attempted murder. 
 
Others arraigned with him are Eghe Imariagbe, 45; Efosa Aimufua, 33, and Osazee Edomwonyi, 39.
 
When the charges were read to them by Police prosecutor, Mr. Oyebade Adedeji, they pleaded not guilty and were ordered to be remanded in prisons custody by trial Magistrate, Mrs Taye Omoruyi, and the case adjourned to February 13 for further hearing.
 
Count one read that Eghe Imariagbe and others, on December 22, 2017, at about 7p.m. at Ohovbe, Benin City in Ogbeson Magisterial District, did conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit attempted murder and, thereby, committing an offence punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 48 Vol 11 Laws of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria 1976, as applicable to Edo State.
