A new twist to the injury story of Blessing Okagbare and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) for the sprinter's failure to show up for the 200m women's event in Beijing 2015 has developed, with the Medical director insisting that there was no report of injury on the athlete.

Speaking in Congo, venue of the on-going 11th Africa Games, the diÂrector of Medical DepartÂment, National Sports Commission (NSC) Dr. Abubakar Mu’azu, has disclosed that the comÂmission did not receive any report on Blessing Okagbare’s injury as she claimed, insistÂing that there was no reÂport of injury on the athÂlete in the first place.
It can be recalled that Blessing Okagbare allegedly told the AthletÂics Federation of NigeÂria (AFN) that it was because of her injury that made her not to show up for the 200m women’s event - the IAAF AthletÂics World Championship held recently in Beijing.
The former SuÂper Eagles’ team doctor, said Okagbare’s withÂdrawal from 200m race at the World Athletic ChamÂpionship was a surprise to the commission and no report of her injury had been received.
"If she’s here to compete in the relay event, that’s her choice. But all I can tell you is that she has no injury", Muzua stated.
