Six members of the Peoples Democratic Party have been expelled for alleged anti-party activities.
The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state has expelled six of its members over alleged anti-party activities.
According to ThisDay, five councillors in Ughelli North local government area were also placed on one month suspension for leveling false allegations against the local government council chairman, Kenneth Ibru.
Their expulsion was announced by the state PDP chairman, Chief Edwin Uzor during a stakeholders’ meetings of the party at the state party secretariat in Asaba, the state capital.
He said the meeting became necessary so as to settle the crisis raging council areas and bring aggrieved members of the party together.
He said it was also to enhance the success of the party in subsequent elections in the areas.
Those who were expelled are, Messrs Alex Batete, Kpator Ernest, Francis Afuevure, David Efeghere, Dane Okorhi and Emusiri Onojeghoro.
The state publicity secretary of the party, Deinghan Ray Macaulay, who addressed newsmen, stated that those expelled had been found guilty of alleged offenses, particularly working against the interest of the party in Udu local government area.
