A 35-year-old man has been strangled to death on his motorcycle by a 12ft long python he was holding by its head, Dailymail has reported.

The man identified as Zaim Khalis Kosnan who is a snake catcher had spotted the huge reptile on his way home in Kuala Langat in Malaysia's Selangor state in the early hours of Sunday morning before he returned on his motorbike with a pair of gloves and a sickle after telling his sister he planned to capture the snake to sell.

Sadly, his dead body was spotted by passers-by in the morning, with the snake wrapped around it. They killed the snake in order to free Mr Kosnan's body, Kuala Langat police chief superintendent Azizan Tukiman said.

Firemen were on the scene an hour after getting a call and were given the order to dispose of the snake. Supt Tukiman said initial investigations found Mr Kosnan fell from his motorcycle on the side of the toad after the snake began to constrict him.

A post-mortem examination is being carried out at the nearby Banting Hospital and is expected to confirm death by strangulation.

'I believe he was holding the reptile's head while transporting it on his motorcycle when it started to coil around his body and constrict him,' Mr Kosnan's brother-in-law Mohd Noor Radiman told The Star.
'We are saddened by this sudden and tragic news,' he said.

Supt Tukiman added: 'The victim had told his elder sister about his intention when he arrived home for the tools.

'Then he left the house with a pair of gloves and a sickle on his motorcycle to capture the snake.'
