Bloody Clash As Police Corporal Kills Colleague Over A Misunderstanding In Adamawa

A police officer has been arrested after he reportedly shot dead his colleague over a misunderstanding in Adamawa state.

 
A regular Policeman, Bala Adamu, on Tuesday shot dead a Mobile Policeman, Emmanuel Timothy, who was on Special Assignment in Madagali town of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa.
 
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Yola on Wednesday, the Spokesperson of the Police Command in the state, Othman Abubakar, said the incident occurred following “a minor misunderstanding” around 10. 45 a.m. at the Madagali Police Division.

“The deceased, Timothy, a Sergeant, from 13 Squadron, Makurdi, Benue, was among those deployed to Adamawa on special assignment,” Mr Abubakar, SP, said.
 
Mr Abubakar, who did not give reason for the misunderstanding, said Adamu, Corporal, had been disarmed and arrested, while the matter had been transferred to the command’s Criminal Investigation Department, CID, for investigation.
