The Newark Liberty International Airport witnesses a mild drama on Saturday when a woman tried to board a plane with her 'emotional support' peacock, but the United Airlines denied the bird a seat aboard .

The woman who is yet to be identified, alleged she bought a second ticket for her emotional support peacock, but United Airlines refused to let the bird board the flight, Live and Let’s Fly reports.

In a statement to CNBC, United spokeswoman, Andrea Hiller said the woman brought a peacock with her for a Saturday flight from Newark Liberty International Airport, despite several warnings that the bird did not satisfy the airline's guidelines.

According to her, the oversized bird did not fly. "This animal did not meet guidelines for a number of reasons, including its weight and size. We explained this to the customer on three separate occasions before they arrived at the airport."

The airline also noted that passengers are required to provide proper documentation from a medical professional at least 48 hours in advance of boarding that specifies the passenger’s need for an animal.
