The police officer narrating the story to Governor Ortom
A Nigerian police officer has narrated how he and others escaped death after they were attacked by more than 14 Fulani herdsmen in Benue state. He was among the officers sent to the troubled region to bring peace as herdsmen have continued to kill innocent people.
Narrating the incident to Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state after the escape, the police officer thanked God for saving his life.
However, some of his colleagues were not lucky.
"With what I saw yesterday, to go on this kind of operation is with motor is not advisable anymore..., if it is armoured tank we can beat them, because they can't enter inside. If not because of experience, we would have lost more than this...
"Confirmed Fulani people. I saw somebody with round everything... and they are Fulani. Have AK47 and machine guns..." the policeman said.
