Ayakeme Whisky has lashed out on the former president and the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa state for depriving Senator Emmanuel Paulker from the state's gubernatorial race.
Seriake Dickson And Goodluck Jonathan
Senator Emmanuel Paulker's campaign organisation director general, Ayakeme Whisky, has lashed out on the former president, Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa state for sidelining the lawmaker from the state’s gubernatorial race.
Paulker was disqualified alongside a former Chairman of Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Chief Ebikitin Diongoli, at the party’s zonal screening committee in Port Harcourt, Rivers state last weekend.
Only Governor Dickson was successfully cleared after the screening, leaving him as the sole contender for the governorship election, as ex president Goodluck Jonathan had already endorsed the state governor as the PDP candidate for the Bayelsa poll slated for three months’ time.
The endorsement came after the governor had reconciled with the former first lady, Patience Jonathan. Endorsing Dickson, Jonathan stated that the governor had performed in very key areas that has affected the state positively.
However, Paulker’s campaign director faulted Jonathan’s choice saying that the disqualification of the Senator was deliberate choreographed plots by those who believed they could play God in the lives of men.
He noted that one of the spurious allegations against the senator is that he did not attach his tax documents, alarming to the campaign organisation. The campaign director said that the allegation was unbelievable and laughable.
He wondered why a sitting senator who ordinarily should have nothing barring him should be whimsically disqualified by the same party that allowed him to represent it in a senatorial election barely six months ago.
He said Paulker who was a close friend to Jonathan had been in the senate for more than eight years and had been paying his taxes.
He regretted that while the main opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress had thrown its door open to 19 aspirants, the PDP had closed the doors against all other aspirants, leaving Dickson as the sole candidate.
