Social media users have been stunned with photos of a Nigerian governor freely playing football during a novelty match with members of the upper class in the South-western state as a way of making his first year anniversary in office.
The heated match was between the members of the executive arm of government and the legislature. It took place at the Akure Sports Stadium yesterday during which Governor Rotimi Akeredolu gallantly manned the goalpost.
The excited leader took to his Instagram page to share pictures with the caption seen below:
"I was at the Novelty Football Match between the 'Executive Team' and 'The Legislative Team' at the Akure Sports Stadium 19th February, 2018 to mark the one year anniversary of our Government."
Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, or Rotimi Akeredolu, is a Nigerian politician and lawyer who is the Governor of Ondo State, Nigeria and also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria who became president of the Nigerian Bar Association in 2008. He hails from Owo.
