16 Trucks Of Fuel Meant For Adamawa Diverted - DPR

Corruption in Nigeria appears to be rife in the oil sector as petroleum products are being diverted by unscrupulous people to satisfy selfish interests.

Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has said 16 trucks of petroleum product expected to be delivered to Adamawa State has been diverted by two unknown companies.
 
Controller of DPR Adamawa and Taraba, Muhammed Alaku stated during a monitoring tour of fuel stations in five different local government areas of the state.
 
He said Kakumi Nigeria Limited has lifted 11 trucks of fuel and Kavamchi Oil lifted 5 trucks of petroleum product which have not been delivered to the state.
 
Alaku said DPR has taken measures to track defaulters.
 
''We have sealed two filling stations in Taraba and one filling station in Adamawa for failure to comply to regulations and will continue to clampdown on any illegal activity aimed at frustrating the efforts of the federal government in making the product available to Nigerians." He stated.
