After dispossessing a man of his valuables, a 13-man armed robbery gang have been arrested in Niger state.

All members of a 13-man robbery gang terrorising Suleja Local Government Area of Niger State have been arrested by the police.
The suspects were arrested after they attacked a man, Tuheed Isyaku of Lambata in Gurara Local Government Area in his shop and made away with his handsets, bags and other valuables.
The suspects – Saidu Kabiru (21), Abubakar Sadiq (22), Usman Ali (20), Bala Abdullahi (28), Lukman Abubakar (25), Mohammed Mohammed (21), Hussaini Ibrahim (21), Zaharadeen Adam (19), Abdullahi Yahaya (22), Aliyu Sani (21), Abubakar Shehu (20), Hassan Ibrahim (21) and Abdulmalik Usman (22) – were trailed and arrested by police attached to the area. It was learnt that the police responded to distress calls that the bandits had been making life unbearable for the people living in that area.
Confirming the incident yesterday, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), M u h a m m a d Abubakar, said that police operatives apprehended the suspects based on a tip-off. He said: “Our operatives recovered from them various dangerous weapons. Niger State Police Command has declared war on criminality to reduce the crime rate in the state.
We urge the people to report any suspicious person to the nearest police station. “For the criminals, they have no hiding place in the state because the law will soon catch up with them and they will be decisively dealt with.
“We are on top of the situation; we will not relent in our efforts to make the state crime-free.” Abubakar said the suspects would be charged to court on conclusion of investigations.
