Dailymail, the man identified as Vishnu Pandey, 53, was collecting an award as part of a travel agents event in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, when he collapsed and later died.
Footage captures the moment when Pandey's name is called and he runs up to the stage jigging to a Bollywood song amid cheers from the audience.
Wearing a grey safari suit, the joyful man continues to dance around when on the stage.
But within a matter of seconds, the businessman from Mumbai loses his balance and collapses on to the stage, leaving onlookers to gasp in shock.
Audience members quickly rushed to his aid and he was taken to hospital, where he was later declared dead.
The doctors said that Pandey had died from a cardiac arrest.
One of the organisers, who wished not to named, said: 'Everyone present during the function was left shell shocked that we lost such a charismatic and entertaining person within a matter of some seconds.'
