Nigerian Professor Dies in Saudi Arabia Stampede (Photo)

The ill-fated stampede in Saudi Arabia that claimed a lot of lives and injured many others has led to the untimely death of a Nigerian professor from Borno state.

A Nigerian pilgrim has been named among the over 717 people that died in the stampede today at the ongoing holy pilgrimage in Mecca.
 
According to twitter handle @mysanda, Prof. Tijjani El-Miskeen, an indigene of Borno state and an illustrious son of the state died in the stampede. The deceased was a  Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Maiduguri.
 
May his soul rest in peace.

Meanwhile, the death toll in the Mina stampede has risen to 717 with several others badly injured.
