Senate Confirms President Buhari's Nominees For Federal Appointments

The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointments of the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission, and Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The newly appointed Executive Secretary of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Anthony Ojukwu, as well as the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), James Momoh, were on Tuesday confirmed by the Nigerian Senate.
 
According to PREMIUM Times, Ojukwu's confirmation was made after the Senate considered a report from the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, David Umaru (APC, Niger East).
 
While Momoh's confirmation was made after considering a report read by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Power, Steel Development and Metallurgy, Eyinnaya Abaribe (PDP, Abia South).
 
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had in December 2017, wrote to the Senate to request the confirmation of the appointments.
