Some videos have shown the shocking moment thugs invaded the Senate chamber during plenary to run away with the mace.

Nigerians were shocked recently when news emerged that the mace which happens to be the symbol of authority in the Senate has been stolen.

We had reported earlier that the Senate plenary was on Wednesday disrupted after suspected thugs invaded the chamber and made away with the mace.

The incident happened a few seconds after a suspended senator, Ovie Omo-Agege, entered the chamber.

According to Premium Times, it was observed that about 10 suspected thugs who came to the venue with the senator forced their entrance into the chamber.

Seconds later, the thugs ran out of the chamber with the mace causing pandemonium in the Senate.

They left the National Assembly with the mace in a black SUV.

Now videos showing the moment the mace was stolen, have emerged.

In the video above, the thugs entered the senate chamber around the 20th minute.
