A young man who is claiming to be cousin to Nigeria's Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi, has accused the former Chelsea star of neglecting his family members.

A young man man identified as Obikezie Chukwuemeka, who claims to be a cousin to Mikel John Obi, has taken to his Instagram page to appeal to the Super Eagles captain to pay more attention to his extended family.
Chukwuemeka in the long post on his social media page, reminded Mikel Obi how he met his dad at the Civic Center five years ago when he launched his foundation.
He went further to say he did not know if his uncle (Mikel's father) told the former Chelsea star that his mother passed on two years ago.
"I just want to get some things straight, is it that you love showing outsiders that you are so caring and render help to those who need them and your own relatives are living in abject poverty," he wrote.
"In the villages, in Lagos Ajegunle and so on. God that blessed you with this gift and luck knows why, he would have given it to Nnaemeka your elder brother, but, he, God has his reasons.
"I'm not saying give us money, noooooooo, just show your family and relatives you care. Shikena. Your cousin Obikezie Chukwuemeka," he concluded.
As at the time of filing this report, Mikel Obi is yet to respond to his alleged younger cousin's claims.
