The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a new chairman to head the Bayelsa State gubernatorial primary election committee.

The party’s NWC on Tuesday approved the appointment of retired Brigadier-General Mansur Dan Ali as the new chairman of the committee

Dan Ali replaced Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, who supervised the previous primary that was later cancelled by the party.

The election is expected to hold on Wednesday at Samson Siasia Stadium. Oshiomhole had in his report to the national headquarters of the APC said that election did not hold last week Tuesday as thugs took over the electoral process even as the police were helpless.

Meanwhile some members of the panel were scared of heading to Bayelsa for fear of their lives.
