See What Governor Did For A Food Vendor Suffering From Eye Problem Due To Fire In Akwa Ibom (Photos)

A food vendor who was suffering serious eye problem as a result of fire has been uplifted by the Governor of Akwa Ibom state.

Akwa Ibom state governor, Emmanuel Udom yesterday gave out N500,000 to Eka Udo Kitchen, a foremost food services outlet in Uyo, that has run for 22 years and counting.
 
The food outlet owned by Mrs. Grace Bassey Etim, started in 1996 on a small scale at the same location it presently operates and has produced about 200 trained people in its line of business.
 
Mrs. Etim who started the business as a hawker for almost 7 years between 1996 and 2002, upgraded at the verge of shutting down. She has been consistent, growing from strength to strength, attracting and sustaining customers from high, middle and lower classes of individuals in Uyo, including visitors to Uyo.
 
 
She is suffering from eye problem, due to exposure to constant fire.
 
“Eka Udo” as she is fondly called, has recently achieved a successful sustainability of her business in her absence and counting. Mrs. Grace Etim has 3 children, all trained in school from the proceeds of her business.
 
Meanwhile, the governor has directed the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Health, Dr Dominic Ukpong to liaise with the personal physician to the Governor to arrange for a medical examination of the food vendor, Eka Udo to find out if her eye defect could be addressed medically.
