Popular Ebonyi Hotelier Survives After Being Shot And Dumped Inside River By Suspected Assassins

A popular hotelier in Ebonyi state has reportedly survived miraculously after he was shot and then dumped in a river.

It has been reported that the Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the attempted kidnap and murder of a businessman, Chief Monday Okeh in the state.
 
Daily Trust reports that Chief Okeh owns a popular hotel called ‘Monablis,’ which is located along Mile 50 in Abakaliki, the state capital.
 
The four suspects, our correspondent gathered, picked the victim few miles away from his hotel last Friday night and took him to a river where they shot him and drop him inside the river.
 
Okeh who survived the gun shot is said to be receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki.
 
A source, who identified himself simply as Kelechi, said “the assassins used a black Highlander Jeep that has no bumber in the front", he said.
 
The state police spokesperson, ASP Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident. He added that the hoodlums stole N9 million belonging to the victim, saying that investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
