How 2 Pupils Were Abducted From Cross River Primary School

Two minors have been abducted by some yet to be identified people in the Niger Delta part of Nigeria.

Two primary school pupils’ ages 5 from government primary school, Ikot Effanga, Mkpa in Calabar Municipal council of Cross River State have been abducted by unknown persons in the State.
 
The children, Elisha Godwin Ukam and Isaiah Ugi Ugbong were allegedly abducted from the school compound after school hours.
 
DAILY POST gathered that the children were at the school on 17th May, 2018 but were never found after school.
 
The Principal Council and Human Rights Activists, Barrister James Ibor who runs the Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI) said in a release made available to the media that the boys got missing on the 17th of May, 2018.
 
“On the 17th of May, 2018, the children reported to school in the morning but never came back. We appeal to anyone with information of their whereabouts to call Basic Rights Counsel Initiative.
 
He said the organization, Basic Rights Counsel Initiative, BRCI, is a non-governmental organisation based in Calabar, Cross River State and responsible for the fight against child abuse and other cases involving children.
 
When a correspondent contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Irene Ugbo on phone on Wednesday, she confirmed being aware of the incident but noted that nobody was arrested.
 
She said investigation on the matter was ongoing and pictures of the kids have been sent to media houses for announcement for members of the public to assist in recovering the kids.
 
“I am aware of the incident, the matter was reported and we are investigating it. The pictures of the kids have been forwarded to media houses for announcement,” she stated.
