A young man who had jumped over a fence to burgle a house, steal money and some jewelry after the occupants had left for work, has been apprehended by residents in Port Harcourt.

A suspected burglar was, yesterday, stripped, tied and beaten up after being caught during an operation at Rumukpokwu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to reports, the suspect had jumped over a fence to burgle a house, stealing money and jewelry at about 10am, after the occupants had left for work.

Luck, however, ran out on him while leaving. He was caught by a passerby who alerted neighbours, who beat him before handing him over to the police.
