Fayose & Kanu in court

We reported earlier today that the outspoken Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja to show support for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who faced his ongoing trial before Justice Nyako.

While speaking to journalists outside the courtroom, Governor Fayose, who wore an Igbo cap to the court,  gave reasons for appearing in court for Nnamdi Kanu's trial, saying that the IPOB leader is a Nigerian who was being treated unjustly for no reason.

The Chairman of the PDP Governor's Forum, said that it is unfortunate that many Nigerians are treated in the same way like Kanu.

His words: "This nation belongs to all of us, I have come to identify with the Igbo people. My position remains that Kanu will one day walk into freedom in this our great country."

The governor's presence elicited jubilation from members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) gathered outside the courtroom.

Also present at the court were former Ministers of Aviation, Osita Chidoka and Femi Fani-Kayode.

Nnamdi Kanu was however later granted bail. Click here to see his bail conditions.
