Fulani Herdsmen Invade Primary School in Edo, Scare Pupils with Cattle (Photos)

Posted by George on Tue 06th Jun, 2017 - tori.ng

There was a mild scare at the Ihovbre primary school in Ikpoba Okha local government, Edo State following the invasion of Fulani herdsmen seeking grasses for their cattle.

The school compound invaded the herdsmen

A South-south activist, Comrade-Austeen Imoniche Oviosun has openly criticised a recent invasion of Ihovbre primary school in Edo State by some Fulani herdsmen who disrupted the the school's playground as well as classrooms with their cows moving freely thereby causing panic.

Incidents like this has led to escalated crisis and death in many parts of the country like Rivers, Benue, Zamfara, Ekiti and others without an efficient intervention by the government.

Mr. Ovisun is calling on government bodies to rise up to the task of calling the herdsmen to order to avoid a re-occurrence of such an anomaly.

Read his full statement as shared on Facebook below:

"The audacity at which most of these herdsmen commit serious crimes to humanity is alarming.

This is Ihovbre primary school in Ikpoba Okha local government, a supposed grooming place and a citadel of learning. It is sad to note that these herdsmen have invaded the class rooms, fields and the entire environment of this school.

This is highly condemable and man inhumanity to man, I humbly call on our working governor to come to the aid of these children and put a definite stop to this.

I also appeal on Edo state house of Assembly to quickly swing into action, and work on a bill to regulate the activities of the Fulani herdsmen.

I am Comrade-Austeen Imoniche Oviosun and I want a better society."
