A Lagos pastor has received the shock of his life when he found out he had been duped of a whopping N11m by fraudsters posing as petroleum suppliers.

Rev. Dr. Oluwafemi Iroh, a Lagos-based pastor, has allegedly lost N11 million to suspected fraudsters who guised as suppliers of petroleum product.

Daily Post reports that the suspected fraudsters approached the pastor at his office located in Borokiri Plaza, Jakande Estate, Lagos state and sought for his involvement in the said business.

It was revealed that one of the suspects, Benjamin Kayode, has been arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrates’ court for obtaining money under false pretext and stealing under the Criminal Code.

Kayode’s accomplice, Abraham Lot, is now at large.

According to the police, Kayode and Lot allegedly lured Iroh into petrol supply business with a promise that Iroh would make a huge profit from it.

They assured him of prompt supply and reduced the price of the product as dealers in business who knew where to get the product at cheaper price.

Iroh, who believed them, reportedly gave them N11 million and waited in vain for the supply of the product. He thereafter went to the Ejigbo Police Division and reported the case and the police trailed the suspects and eventually arrested Kayode.

Following his arrest, Kayode said he had shared the money and as such there was no money to refund to Iroh. He was however, charged to court with the alleged offence but he pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs A. O. Adedayo, reportedly granted Kayode bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate adjourned the matter till 18 January 2016, ordering that the suspect be remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
