It was surprising recently when police arrested some kidnappers who took two women hostage and one of them turned out to be disabled.

A physically-challenged person and five others are now in Police net in Akwa Ibom State for allegedly kidnapping two women in Oruk Anam Local Government Area of the state, Authority reports.
The Commissioner of Police, Murtala Mani, made the disclosure in Uyo while parading the suspects. He said that the physically-challenged person, Mr Ikoedem Sampson and five others had seized the two women in Oruk Anam.
According to him, other suspects included Emediong Emmanuel, Lucky Akpan, Nkereuwem Okon, Ukeme Uffot and Ndian Samuel. He said the suspects kidnapped the two women and kept them in the bush for six days until a ransom of N170, 000 was paid which led to their arrest.
“On January 23, 2016, at about 0200hrs the suspect, Emediong Emmauel of Enen Ikot Etefia village in Oruk Anam Local Government Area led other gang members numbering about five and kidnapped one Aniefiok Ekanem Peter (F) and Promise Moses Akpan (F) all of Enen Ikot Etim village in Oruk Anam and collected a ransom of N170, 000 before releasing the victims after keeping them in their custody for six days. The suspects upon arrests and interrogation confessed to the crime. One locally made pistol used by the gang was recovered”, he said.
The police boss further disclosed that the command on January 22, arrested a gang of suspected armed robbers who invaded the house of one Inyang Willie of Ikot Osute village.
