Mixed Reactions Trail Gombe State Governor's Appointment of Over 40 Aides

 

In a press release that has already gone viral online and on social media, the governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, has approved the appointments and postings of over 40 Special and Personal Assistants.

 

The list has generated a lot of criticisms and mixed reactions from the general public who been canvassing for a cut in flivolous government spendings given the current economic downturn.

 

Since the new dispensation, several state governors had taken a proactive step in cutting down on the number of aides and even merging ministries so as to save the cost of running the government.

 

But Dankwambo's new list is a far cry from that consideration as the huge number of special and personal assistants has left many wondering what the ideal behind the appointment is.
