A 27-year-old man in Ndieke Ndiagu village in Amagu community, Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State who until his death was the taskforce chairman of Motorcycle Transport Union (MTU) in Ndiagu Amagu Mr Joseph Anyigor, was yesterday beaten to death for driving recklessly at the market.

According to Leadership, there has been lingering leadership crisis between the late Anyigor and other members of his executive following allegations of high handedness.

It was gathered that trouble started when   some members of his union alleged that he drove his motorcycle recklessly at Afia Igwe Market Square and the union members attacked him which led to his death.

Confirming the incident yesterday, the state police public relations officer, ASP George Okafor, said that the chairman of Ndiagu Amagu, Earnest Nwoba, in company of Walter Nwanchor Nwangbo, and Godwin Anyigor, reported at Ikwo police station the death of Anyigor  at about 4:30 pm.

He said there was a fight between the late Anyigor and his task force members on the way he drove his vehicle at the market square and that the police was yet to get the full details of how he drove the motorcycle that made his union members descend so heavily on him which led to his death.
