I Was 'Tricked' Into Marrying A Mentally Unstable Man While My Inlaws Forcefully Took My 2-year-old Son From Me - Nigerian Woman

Chioma, alongside her mother, Ngozi Chukwudi Anabunovu, alleged that her in-laws took her son from her, and allegedly assaulted her before sending her out of her husband's house.

A woman, Mrs Chioma Chukwudi Anabunovu, has accused her inlaws of tricking her into marry their mentally challenged son in Okoh, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
 
The woman disclosed this after the Anambra State Government, through the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, rescued her 2-year-old son who was forcefully taken from her by her in-laws.
 
Chioma, alongside her mother, Ngozi Chukwudi Anabunovu, alleged that her in-laws took her son from her, and allegedly assaulted her before sending her out of her husband's house.
 
Chioma also stated that this was not the first time such an act had happened but each time, her mother, Mrs Ngozi usually came to beg them to take her back until the last one that broke the Camel's back.
 
Chidinma Ikeanyionwu, the media aide to the the Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Hon Ify Obinabo, in a statement on Thursday, August 29, 2024, said that Chioma, also revealed that she had her son out of wedlock, long before the marriage, which lasted for about six to seven months.
 
‘’On what the husband has done to stop the recurrence of such an incident, the mother of the two-year boy noted that her husband is mentally unstable, explaining that she was tricked into the marriage because she already has a son,” the statement read.
     
"After the team from the office of the commissioner rescued the said child, the culprit, Mrs. Paulina Ezenwadike came to the office with her son to query the government on why they should take the boy.

“It was discovered after thorough investigation and interrogation by the Women Affairs Boss represented by her Special Assistant, Mrs Blessing Austin-Nweke that the child was found in the hand of a third party and all the complaint said was affirmed by her in-laws.”
     
Speaking after reuniting with her son, the complaint thanked the state government for coming to her aid.
