Ronaldo and Georgina Sign Prenup One Day Before Their Wedding

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez wed at their £30 million mansion near Lisbon with minimal ceremony and only four witnesses plus their children present.

The civil proceeding took place at 1:30pm on Tuesday, exactly one year after the couple announced their engagement on social media. Notably absent were Ronaldo's mother Dolores Aveiro and his three siblings Hugo, Elma and Katia.

The witnesses comprised Georgina's sister Ivana, Ronaldo's longtime associate Miguel Paixao, and a Spanish couple identified as Jose Rodriguez Sangil, described by Portuguese media as a jeweller, and his wife Monica Goncalez Martinez.

A registrar travelled from Porto to Cascais to conduct the ceremony.

The couple executed a prenuptial agreement on August 10, the day before the wedding, at a notary's office in Lisbon to maintain separate property regimes despite their decade-long relationship.

Both will retain their pre-marriage surnames.

According to a Portuguese newspaper that obtained a copy of the marriage certificate, the wedding took place at Ronaldo's substantial home in the upmarket Quinta da Marina residential area.

The document recorded Ronaldo's full name, age 41, birthplace and parents' names, including his deceased father Jose Dinis.

Georgina's certificate listed her full name, age 32, and birthplace of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Ronaldo's mother publicly blessed the union by posting a heart emoji in response to his wedding announcement, despite not attending the ceremony.

The couple's representatives had previously confirmed the August 11 wedding after they shared images displaying their wedding rings on social media.

Earlier speculation that they would marry at Funchal Cathedral on Madeira proved unfounded.

Ronaldo and Georgina have since returned to Saudi Arabia, where Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr ahead of the new season's opening.
