The Guri Local Government Council in Jigawa State says the area has enjoyed three years of peace.

For a long time, farmers and herders there clashed often, and people lost lives and property.

Council Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Umar Danbarde spoke to reporters about the change.

He gave credit to Governor Umar Namadi's government for pushing peaceful living together and tightening security in the communities.

He said residents can now go about their daily work without the fights that used to disrupt their lives.

He called peace the foundation for growth at the grassroots.

He asked residents to keep it up by being tolerant, understanding each other and settling disputes peacefully.

He also urged people to keep law and order before, during and after the 2027 general elections.
