Governor Ajimobi Demolishes Ayefele's N800m Music House (Photos)

The Government of Oyo state has carried out its threat to demolish the headquarters of Ibadan based radio station, popularly called Music station, Fresh FM owned by musician, Yinka Ayefele.

Tears and lamentation flow freely on the cheeks of residents of Ibadan, Oyo state on Sunday morning as the headquarters of Ibadan based radio station, popularly called Music station, Fresh FM owned by musician, Yinka Ayefele, MON was demolished by the state government.
 
According to Nigerian Tribune, the bulldozer arrived at the premises of the radio station around 4:30am on Sunday in company of a full white hummer bus of officers of the Nigerian Army and Mobile policemen.
 
Being a pending issue since last week, immediately the staff on duty announced the demolition exercise, residents from neighbouring areas trooped to catch a glimpse of the incident.
 
The demolition exercise affected the staircase connecting the entrance to the music hall, reception, newsroom and an office adjacent to the office of the chairman.
 
The operation, sources informed was meant for total destruction, but the operator of the bulldozers stopped when it’s fork tampered with one of electric poles at the adjacent  road behind the office, for fear of electric shock.
 
 
One of the staff while speaking with Nigerian Tribune under condition of anonymity informed that the staff on duty were not aware of the presence of the demolition team.
 
Ayefele Speaking: “We only got wind of the operation sound of the bulldozer, on stepping out to verify what is actually happening, the bulldozer had hit the gate. At that point, it dawned on us that they were from the state government.

“At that point, we were confused and we’re just shouting to alert other staff on duty. “
 
 
The chairman of the station, Dr Yinka Ayefele’s, MON, who was dumbfounded after he was informed and when he came out to inspect could not utter any word. He later went round the station to take stock of the station with staff who were all strolling in one by one.
