A 25-year-old Israeli man was killed and his wife lightly injured after being hit by a car on Thursday while honeymooning in Thailand, according to
TimesOfIsreal.
The man was named by Hebrew media as Yedidya Kellerman of Nof Ayalon.
The accident took place in the northern city of Pai, near the border with Myanmar. According to Hebrew media reports, the couple were standing at the side of the road with their motor scooter when they were hit by a passing vehicle.
Kellerman was killed on the spot — a local doctor declared him dead at the scene — and his wife Kesem was lightly injured.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry said its consulate in Bangkok was arranging for the body of the man to be flown back to Israel for burial.
Last month, a man was killed and his wife injured in a zip-lining accident while on their honeymoon in Honduras. The two were on a zip-line over a treetop canopy near Roatan on the island of Bahia when they crashed into each other, according to local media.
