Jesus Lookalike Arressted wearing trademark robes and carrying staff after ice-skating

 

A man who is popularly know as Philly Jesus because of his resemblance with the depicted image of Jesus has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and failure to disperse while ice-skating in Philadelphia wearing his trademark robes and carrying a staff.

 

 

Mirror UK reports that the former homeless drug addict said the officer that arrested him alleged he had solicited money from members of the public although his lawyer, Charles Gibbs said Grant was only talking to people and taking photographs as he has done for months, describing the policeman’s order to leave the area as “an unlawful order to leave a public park.”

 

Mr. Gibbs went further to say “Those are charges that, in my experience, the government uses when you don’t do whatever the government wants you to do, or that the police officer wants you to do.

“He’s a very decent young man who is simply exercising his First Amendment right of speech.”

“To have our local government try and crucify a guy who’s standing in LOVE Park and spreading a message of hope and peace is reminiscent of what happened 2,000 years ago – and still patently disturbing,”
