The Governor of Borno state appeared without pre-information in a secondary school and sat down in one of the classrooms to monitor teachers.

Kashim Shettima, the governor of Borno State on Tuesday, February 16, paid an unscheduled visit to Auno Central Primary School and Junior Day Secondary School in Konduga Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State.
The governor even sat down with the students in one of the classrooms to access the quality of teaching the students recieve.
Speaking afterwards, Shettima stressed that no meaningful development could be achieved without education. He stated that in order to entice families to send their children to school, the State promised to provide one meal per day to attendees.
According to him: "It is only education that will give you equal opportunity to contribute for the development of your communities, State, and the nation at large. I urge parents and guardians to send their wards to school."
He directed and emphasized that all school-aged pupils be enrolled and that parents should know is their responsibilities to send their wards to school.
