In a recent Instagram post, Nubi informed her over 40,000 followers that she will commence the two-month solo trip in a car on Tuesday.

A Nigerian lady has revealed her intention to begin a journey from London to Lagos by car.

Pelumi Nubi, who is a Nigerian travel content creator announced this on her Instagram page.

According to her, she will commence the two-month solo trip in a car on Tuesday.

The UK-based Nigerian blogger also disclosed that before she started the trip, she interacted with people who have “tackled similar adventures”.

Nubi said she realised “no black woman has made this journey before”. She also expressed excitement to be embarking on the trip, notwithstanding the outcome.

“London to Lagos solo road trip 🚗 🌍✨. Hey, everyone! I’ve got a crazy idea that I’m actually turning into reality – I’m driving solo from London to Lagos Starting 30th January 2024,” she wrote.

“For months, I’ve been chatting with folks who’ve tackled similar adventures. As far as I know, no black woman has made this journey before. But hey, this isn’t about breaking records. It’s about showing the world that “impossible” is just a word, especially when you’ve got enough grit and determination. I can’t fully describe my emotions right now but I am just so excited to finally put it out there -no matter the outcome!”

Nubi is making the trip with a Peugeot 107. The vehicle has been customised with features that will enable space for sleeping and dining.

During the trip, the Nigerian lady will traverse 17 countries beginning from England to France, Spain, and then Morocco.

Nubi will thereafter pass through the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, and Gambia. She will also continue through Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, and Benin, before arriving in Lagos.

The development comes nearly two years after Kunle Adeyanju, the Nigerian tourist, rode a bike from London to Lagos.
