Tensions escalated at the National Assembly as protesters clashed with police following the use of tear gas to disperse the crowd.
A video from the scene captured protesters running from the fumes, with voices shouting, “They don shoot tear gas,” and “They shot it directly at the people.”
Others were also heard saying, “We no go gree o.”
Some reporters on the ground were also caught in the chaos surrounding the ongoing demonstrations.
It had earlier been reported that Protesters on Tuesday returned to the National Assembly Complex for the second consecutive day, intensifying calls for real-time transmission of election results from polling units to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s IREV portal.
